Veteran Benefits Guide (VBG) Awards Eight Public Education Foundation (PEF) Military Officer Scholarships to ROTC Students at University of Nevada, Las Vegas

$20,000 in Scholarships Granted to Students Who Demonstrated Academic Achievement and a Desire to Become Military Officers
Las Vegas, Nevada – Veteran Benefits Guide (VBG) today announced that it has sponsored eight students to receive Public Education Foundation (PEF) Military Officer Scholarships this year. The scholarships, totaling $20,000, are granted to current college juniors attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)and enrolled in an ROTC program. All applicants were required to have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA and desire to become an officer in the military.

The eight scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each were awarded to the following students:
· Pio Bragado, UNLV Air Force ROTC
· Cameron Dowiat, UNLV Air Force ROTC
· Tyler Ray, UNLV Air Force ROTC
· Miguel Antonio Rodriguez, UNLV Air Force ROTC
· Minh Tran, UNLV Air Force ROTC
· Luis Cerriteno, UNLV Air Force ROTC
· David Giddens, UNLV Air Force ROTC
· Joselle StaAna, UNLV Air Force ROTC
PEF’s Scholarships Plus program awards more than900 scholarships each year to help high school seniors and college-enrolled students pursue post-secondary education. This year, the organization will provide more than $6 million in college scholarships to help students pursue their dreams of attending college or vocational school. PEF’s Military Officer Scholarship awards were officially presented to the recipients at a ceremony on UNLV’s campus on Sunday, May 7th.
