Veteran Benefits Guide announces panelists at MCON 2024
As a founding partner and presenting sponsor of MCON, VBG continues to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to supporting the Veteran community across the U.S.
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 17, 2024 – Veteran Benefits Guide, which helps Veterans across America navigate the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ disability compensation benefits process, today announced that it would be hosting two panels at MCON 2024, an event that brings Veterans together to celebrate their collective service, purpose and sacrifice. This year’s event will be in Las Vegas from Oct. 24 to 26.
MCON, founded by U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Waco Hoover and entrepreneur Todd Brockman, will be held in partnership with Military Times. The event will convene Veterans, thought leaders and key industry figures for thought-provoking discussions, networking opportunities, and hands-on activities, including activations around musicians and comedians, outdoor and adventure, mental health and wellness, and culinary and learning experiences.
As part of its sponsorship, VBG will host the following activities:
- On Friday, Oct. 25, at 1:30 p.m., VBG will host a panel discussion on how companies are enriching the quality of life of their Veteran employees by providing education to help them navigate the complicated disability benefits application process. Panelists will discuss how education is key to helping Veterans receive the full financial value of earned benefits associated with their service. The discussion will be moderated by Lisa Kalkes, chief marketing officer and vice president of public affairs at VBG. Featured panelists will include Wesley DeMauro, executive director of asset and wealth management for JPMorgan Chase; Brandon Nivens, Vetforce global events lead for Salesforce; and Roger “Doc” Loesch, veterans employee organization vice president for the USDA.
- On Saturday, Oct. 26, at 1:30 p.m., Kalkes will moderate a discussion with trailblazing women Veterans on redefining what is possible in post-military careers. Hear their stories and learn how they have forged new paths in civilian life with the skills they gained through military service. Panelists will include Ikram Mansori, chief operating officer at VetsinTech; Jennifer Marshall, a Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists host, actor and producer; and Amy Forsythe, author and public affairs officer for the U.S. Navy.
